A small group of students from my school took an amazing trip to the Show My Homework HQ on the 3rd December 2015. Firstly I think it's safe to say that the office was nothing short of super awesome! But in visiting Show My Homework I learnt a lot about what it takes to come up with a marketable idea and to pitch it all within a given time frame.

Before I jump ahead into how brilliant the day was, I can't stress that enough! We were given the task of splitting into smaller groups and designing an idea for an app, armed with help booklets and buzzing ideas our groups split off into sub teams to brainstorm ideas for:

- an app

- its logo

- roles within the team e.g. Finance, marketing

- and a pitch

With well informed help and advice from the Show My Homework staff my group were able to come up with the winning app idea. It was called My Health Tool and to differentiate against other health apps we added a community feature for prospective users to share and gain advice.

The day couldn't have gone any better as we started up with not only the motive to win but aided by the talks we received from three staff members who worked in different sectors of the company.

The most prominent thing I learnt was how many sectors there is in this one company, as well as what it takes to make a good app and how vastly involved technology is in our everyday lives.

Big thanks to SMHW for having us! One of the most interesting school trips!
